VIA Mobile360 Driver Safety System Technology
The VIA Mobile360 DSS (Driver Safety System) alerts drivers in real-time when it detects signs of drowsiness, distraction, smartphone usage, and smoking to prevent accidents and risky or illegal behaviors. By providing objective and relevant real-time data that can be synchronized with the cloud, the DSS also enables managers to identify issues that can potentially impact the performance and health of their drivers and take the necessary steps to address them.
Drowsiness Detection
Drivers of long-haul trucks, delivery vehicles, taxis, and forklifts inevitably spend extended periods behind the wheel, making them susceptible to fatigue. The VIA Mobile360 DSS monitors the driver’s head position and eyes for signs of tiredness and issues an alert when drowsiness kicks in.

Distraction Detection
Smartphone usage and smoking can lead to fatal accidents by distracting the attention of the driver. The VIA Mobile360 DSS monitors such potentially dangerous and illegal behaviors and sends an alert when it detects them in order to warn the driver to desist.
Driver Wellbeing
Driving a vehicle safely for prolonged periods is a stressful occupation. By monitoring the condition of the driver and detecting specific actions, the VIA Mobile360 DSS enables managers to identify issues that can potentially impact the wellbeing of their staff and take the appropriate action to resolve them.

Driver Authentication
The VIA Cloud Management Portal enables the detection and confirmation of the identity of the driver using facial recognition on a connected system or device – minimizing the risk of theft and safeguarding passengers against the dangers of rides from unauthorized drivers.
DSS Event Capture
When a VIA Mobile360 system or device is connected to the VIA Cloud Management Portal, snapshots of DSS events including the time and location can be sent directly to the portal for capture and review.
